Hydrogel iris implant

Artificial iris implant Noviris is a custom made medical device class IIb.

Hydrogel iris implant is a soft non-translucent membrane which is used for replacing damaged or lost iris. It is intended for implantation into the lens capsule. Iris implant is a custom made medical device made of biocompatible hydrogel.

Iris replacement by implantation into the capsule can be made in cases of:

1)     total single- or double-sided absence of the iris if the crystalline lens is clouded (cataract) and the crystal suspension system are preserved

2)     (sub) total absence of the iris and the crystal

3)     the plegic pupil in mydriasis if the crystalline lens is clouded (cataract) and zonula system is relatively preserved

4)     for occlusion of the pupil due to functional or cosmetic indications in combination with cataract surgery
